Spatial Planning

Oostende - Chloe Willmore

Development of spatial methodology. Students and staff from Kingston University, consultants to this element of the programme, have visited all the sites and undertaken spatial studies of the immediate locations of the project. (See 4.1 for agreed Spec) The students have undertaken a full spatial survey and then developed this under the guidance and support of their lecturers, as the key part of their work for the year. They have produced draft material, which combines a set of design solutions to the locations and sets a challenge to designers and planners to consider radical and different solutions to the situations they face.

This material has been sent to partners and is being used in local consultations, as a device for professionals and the general public. From this, the outcomes of the conference and the work and research conducted on and around the sites this coming year a spatial assessment methodology will be produced.
